100th Day of School!

Happy 100th Day of School! This week in reading we focused on how animals survive in nature. We read the stories Go Wild, Fantastic Fish, and Vulture View.  The children worked on finding the main idea and supporting details of the text. We learned the high frequency words: find, food, more, over, start, warm. Our phonics sound was long o: oe( like toe), ow (like crow), and oa (like coat). In math, we learned "greater than, less than, and equal to" and how to use their symbols: >,<,=. For writing this week, the students were given a $100 bill with their picture on it! The students wrote in their journals what they would do with the $100. On Friday, we had an assembly to wrap up The Great Kindness Challenge. It was amazing to see and hear all of the acts of kindness the students showed all week long!
Next week:
Wednesday: COSI
Friday: Glow Night! Pre-sale tickets will be passed out next week. Tickets are still available at the door!
~Remember to work on Valentine Mailboxes or Bags and bring them to school when completed!
