Raz-Kids

Reading is an important skill that should be practiced daily. In class, we are constantly building our reading skills in everything we do... and in all subjects too. We practice reading fluently and put our skills to work. Research has shown that repetitive reading of the same text increases a child's reading fluency and comprehension. This is why I have set up an account for each student on Raz-Kids.com. The fun, interactive books are ways for your child to build reading skills by: listening for modeled fluency, reading for practice, recording their reading, and checking comprehension with quizzes. Recording is optional, but it is neat when the children send their recordings to me through the site so I can listen. They are always excited to earn stars and see my comments the next time they log in!
